The State of the Union Drinking Game Results January 29, 2014

Filed under: Funny,Neat,Politics,Stuff — Fr. Victor Feltes @ 8:00 am

I did not watch the State of the Union last night, but I was curious what it would have been like to have played by Greg Gutfeld’s drinking game rules. Through the power of Ctrl-F, we can discover how many times one would have imbibed:

“Folks” = 4
“Fairshare” = 0
“Extraordinary” =1
Brags about working “tirelessly” = 0
Frets about lack of “compromise” = 1
“Bring me a bill and I’ll sign it” = 0
“Middle Class” = 2
“It’s the right thing to do” = 0
Cites someone his policies have helped = ? (tl;dr)
If that person is in the audience, drink again = ? (supra)
“I never said it would be easy” = 0
If he says “I never said it would be easy” after mentioning Obamacare = 0
Obamacare …. “rough start but worth it” = 0
“Running a country is really hard” = 0
“Economic recovery” = 0
“It won’t happen overnight” = 0
“Make no mistake” = 0
“Let me be clear” = 1
“There are those who disagree” = 0
“We are better then that” = 0

2014 SOTU Word CloudResult: As few as nine sips in total.

In retrospect, as this 2014 SOTU word cloud reveals, if someone had wished to drink more, the magic drinking words would have been “America, American, Americans, People, Work, & Congress.” Well, there’s always 2015 & 2016 (when we can expect President Obama to say pretty much the same things that we heard this year.)
