You may have never heard of the Reid Interrogation Technique, but you’ve seen it imitated on TV. You know police investigation shows (like Law & Order or The Closer) when the detective tells a suspect, “I get it. She insulted you, you got angry, so you hit her with the closest thing at hand, and it just happened to be a pipe…” (The characters usually say these lines with a surly way, lest seeing them feigning believable empathy for suspect after suspect in attempts to deceive them.) As always, when the police want to “interview” you, assert your 5th Amendment Right to remain silent and talk to your attorney before talking to the police.
